- In recent years stories of near-death experiences and supposed journeys to Heaven have been widely distributed and consumed in popular culture and the Church.
- While stories such as these are intriguing, they must ultimately be tested and judged by God’s revelation in Scripture, the believer’s final authority.
- The Bible reveals that Heaven is for real and it’s the destination of all who place their trust in Jesus Christ (Rev. 4; Phil. 3:20-21; 2 Cor. 5:8; Jn. 14:1-3; Jn. 11:25-26).
- We can trust the Bible’s revelation about Heaven because we have tremendous reasons to believe that the Bible is God’s word (see Past Fast Facts- March 7, 2012).
- Finally, we trust that Heaven is for real because Jesus Christ revealed the truth of Heaven to us; and Jesus is ultimately trustworthy because he proved his deity in his life, miracles, and resurrection from the dead.
